An Interview with Manuel Reyes

When it will come to incredibly hot rods and customized automobiles, there is nothing improved than doing work with your close friends. That’s specifically true when you have close friends like Manuel Reyes—an acclaimed custom made painter who is accountable for the chopped 1936 Ford coupe you see here. I have known Manuel for really some time, and I get pleasure from catching up with him whenever I’m down in Southern California.

Manuel’s portfolio is an spectacular 1. From portray the flames on the “California Kid” to lettering the “15oz. Coupe” and the “Chevado” wheelstander, he’s been deeply included in the entire world of incredibly hot rods for well above 60 several years. He’s owned a lifetime’s value of exciting cars, but now we’re heading to concentration on his ’36…in a marginally various way.

You see, this car has currently been featured on The Jalopy Journal. A handful of several years ago, Ryan teamed up with Tom Davison to showcase the ’36 shortly soon after the 2019 Grand Nationwide Roadster Exhibit. They knocked it out of the park, and you can capture the whole tale listed here.

In January, I was strolling about the Fairplex in Pomona when I spotted Manuel and his coupe. I’ve been seeking to shoot a movie profile with him and the vehicle for Ridetech, and the timing lined up completely. He’s a fantastic storyteller, so we’ll let him just take it from right here.
