Kia unveiled the interior and exterior images of The New Seltos, an urban SUV with enhanced high-end sensibility and urban sophistication, today.
The New Seltos is a product improvement model of Seltos, introduced three years after its launch in July 2019, and has established itself as an unrivaled leader in the market as a small SUV representing Kia right after its launch.
The New Seltos is a bold, future-oriented, inspired by ‘Power to Progress’ among the five attributes of Kia’s new design philosophy, Opposites United (creative fusion of opposing concepts). It has been reborn as a more robust design through a luxurious and high-tech interior design that reflects the exterior design and ‘Technology for Life’.
The new Seltos exterior design inherits the powerful and dynamic style of the existing Seltos while applying design elements that stand out for its futuristic sensibility.
A magnificent mesh radiator grill is applied to the front part, and a more innovative and modern image is realized through star map signature lighting and wide LED projection across it.
Star-map Signature Lighting is a lamp sculpting that emphasizes the horizontal and vertical rigidity of the entire front part, and creates a strong and unique design with a wide visual effect.
The vertical shaping of the front LED daytime running lights (DRL) and the vertically linked fog lamps show the differentiated presence of The New Seltos, and the simple skid plate in harmony with the radiator grill gives a neat impression.
The side is equipped with an 18-inch front-processed wheel that emphasizing the outer part with a dynamic sensibility with a balanced silhouette and voluminous character line to create a solid image.
On the rear part, the Starmap signature lighting is applied horizontally and long like the front part, and a backup lamp and rear reflector of the same concept are applied to complete a unified design.
In addition, a glossy black color was applied to the lower bumper to add a sense of luxury.
The interior of The New Seltos contains differentiated luxury by adding high-tech sensibility to the horizontal image.
In the interior, a panoramic display that connects the 10.25-inch cluster and the 10.25-inch infotainment system screen is placed to increase visibility, and it is equipped with state-of-the-art convenience features such as an integrated controller and electronic shift dial (SBW) to provide the best-in-class vehicle experience.
In addition, a modern and bold center garnish was applied to the dashboard while inheriting the horizontally oriented formative heritage.
A Kia official said, “The New Seltos has been reborn as a more robust and sophisticated design with best-in-class commercialization and urban sensibility. We will do it,” he said.
Kia plans to exhibit The New Seltos for the first time at the 2022 Busan International Motor Show on the 14th of next month.
